Targa Great Barrier Reef 2018, Australia, Friday, 31. August 2018

Targa Great Barrier Reef will be the first ever Targa event held in Queensland and the event name joins two iconic brands under the one banner. The new event will be based in one of Australia’s iconic tourism locations, Cairns and will reach out to all of the surrounding regions including Port Douglas and the Atherton Tablelands.

The inaugural event will be held on 31st August and 1st & 2nd September 2018 on a course of over 200 competitive kilometres, including the exciting range roads out of Cairns and Port Douglas, which if you have ever been to the region, you will agree are some of the most exciting roads in the country.

Added to this will be by far the largest Street Stage we have ever undertaken, around the actual city streets of Cairns itself. It promises to see crowds multiple times larger than any crowd Targa has witnessed in the past. This will be followed by a massive Targafest on the Saturday night, right on the Esplanade in Cairns out the front of the many restaurants and bars that line this iconic tourist strip.

Targa Great Barrier Reef will be a Targa event like no other as it passes through landscapes that are truly unique to Tropical North Queensland. Sugar cane and banana plantations will line the various stages and the weather will be anything but cold, being held at an ideal time of the year.
