Your Time Starts Now: A Webinar for Students & Graduates, WA, Online via Zoom, Tuesday, 19. February 2019

Register now for this webinar about Teach For Australia's Leadership Development Program!
Are you a recent or soon-to-be graduate? Are you looking for a challenge that will push you to your limits and build your skills through real-world practice, while you make a positive impact?
If your answer is yes, this webinar is for you! This is your chance to learn more about the vital work we do in Australian communities, how you could benefit from this incredible opportunity, and how to put your best foot forward when submitting your Leadership Development Program application in 2019.
Why does Teach For Australia exist?
Because Australia's education system isn't fair, and that's not good enough. Currently, kids from low-income families, regional and remote areas, and diverse cultural and language backgrounds are much less likely to receive a great education. We want to make sure every child, regardless of their background, achieves the excellent education they deserve. To tackle this problem, we recruit future leaders like you into the classroom, and inspire, connect and empower you to take action towards educational equity. To read more about our vision and mission, head here.
How does the Leadership Development Program work?
Our Associates don't start out as teachers. We attract both graduates and professionals who represent a range of academic disciplines and career aspirations. You'll begin the program with 13 weeks of intensive teaching and leadership training, including 5 weeks in Melbourne with your entire cohort. Then, over two years, you'll be paid to teach in your degree area at one of our partner secondary schools across Australia, while receiving ongoing one-to-one coaching and completing work-integrated studies. At the end of the program, you'll graduate with a nationally accredited Master of Teaching (Professional Practice) on an assisted scholarship - and after that there are a whole range of ways to keep making an impact whether inside or outside of the classroom! To read more details about the program, head here.
What will be in this webinar?
We'll start by introducing the problem of educational inequity, and explaining our approach to tackling that challenge. We'll then go through the details of the Leadership Development Program, and you'll hear from a current Associate or Alum who joined the program as a graduate, to bring their experience to life. Finally, there'll be plenty of time for you to ask any questions you might have about learning areas, study timelines, where we place our associates, and more. We'll also let you know exactly what you need to do to get ready for when application open in March!

Please make sure you sign up and download Zoom for free ahead of the webinar so that you can access the webinar easily.
